Terp Thon is a year-long movement to support patients and families fighting pediatric illness in our local community. As the largest student run philanthropy in the state of Maryland, we raise funds and awareness For The Kids at Children’s National through peer-to-peer fundraising and campus-wide engagement. Our efforts culminate in a 12-hour Dance Marathon event held on the University of Maryland campus each March.
With a health care experience designed around kids’ unique needs, Children’s National is the premier provider of pediatric services in the Washington, D.C., metro area and the area’s only health system specializing in kids. Last year, Children’s saw more than 219,000 children from the nation’s capital, Maryland, and Virginia as well as from across the country and around the world.
The pediatric specialists at Children’s National are internationally recognized for providing the best possible care. In fact, Children’s National is ranked as one of the nation’s top five children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, has the #1 rated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the country and is Magnet®-designated for excellence in nursing.
Terp Thon is led by a 21-person Executive Board, comprised of students from many different backgrounds, all united by a passion for philanthropy. Terp Thon 2020’s Executive Director is Kate Burgess and she can be contacted at email@example.com.
